I know that I took some time off from when I started this site, but I did want to celebrate its 1 year anniversary.
When I started this site I envisioned writing 2-3 articles every week and interacting with my followers on a daily basis. Unfortunately that did not happen last year and I’m determined to maintain that schedule this time around.
What happened was that after I got married I got caught up with being a newlywed and ignored the site. I should have devoted at least one day a week to update the site but never did.
Since restarting this last week I have gained 25 followers on Twitter, 100 followers on Instagram, 10 followers on Pinterest and zero followers on Google +. I need to figure out a way to increase interactions and traffic on Pinterest and Google +. I only update them whenever I have a new post and I never had much interaction on those 2 sites. Any suggestions for Pinterest and Google +?
I also have Snapchat and Facebook profiles. I’m not sure how Snapchat will help me because I am not used to using video in my personal life, I prefer pictures. How do you use them? Do you get a lof interactions?
I am satisfied with the number of comments, likes and messages that I have received so far. Taking a year long break was not the best way to maintain followers and interest from the ones that I had. I’m grateful for all of you who did not unfollow my social media profiles. All of you provide such good content and feedback. I am especially inspired by the sites on my blogroll. I read them every day and try to participate in the comment section.
Thank you for all of your support and feedback.
Do any of you reflect on your sites’ history? How was your fist year running a site/blog? Did any of you take a break from writing?
Personal Capital – Before Personal Capital, I had to log into 5 different financial institutions to track my account balances. My finances were scattered but that is no longer the case. Now I can just log into Personal Capital to see how everything is doing in one place. Some of you might need some organization and Personal Capital will help you with that.
MDD Hosting – I am big proponent of using MDD Hosting as my website server. Their tech support is helpful, especially if you are a newbie to website building. I could not be happier with their service and so will you.
StudioPress – I bought the Going Green theme from this site because I loved the layout and colorization. It is advertised for Environmentalist organizations but I loved it because it’s the color of money. There are many other Themes to choose from, so take a tour and see if any of them can help you with your site.
